ORIGINS
The early 90s were the dawning of the age of computers - email was already in use, albeit internally and mostly proprietary via local area networks. The Internet wasn’t the behemoth it is today, although it had definitely started gaining traction. In the Philippines, people were already using pagers and mobile phones (of the huge, clunky variety), and some of the larger organizations had already started working with computers - although it was in 1994 when computers really took off in the country.
Nexus was formally incorporated on December 20, 1994, a mere days after acquiring their first office space on the 13th floor of the Strata 100 building in Ortigas Center. A Hong Kong-based company had decided to pull out from the 250-square-meter space and left everything in the office. Nexus acquired everything--from the office equipment to the furniture--even down to the coffee maker. The founders personally oversaw the cleaning of the space and even spent the days between Christmas and New Year’s Day making sure that the space would be ready for them to move into sooner rather than later.
